Hi there!
This is Hannah, Kim’s assistant. As some of you might already know, Kim has hit the road and started on her insane tour to take her new tome, STUFF, all over the country for the next month. While she’s off on her nonstop adventure, she’ll be sending me reports of her travels and discoveries and I’ll be posting them on here every so often. At least until April 29th, when she’ll be back in the saddle again.
You can follow Kim’s escapades daily on her Instagram, and I’ve included a copy of her (nutty) schedule below.
Kim practices what she preaches, and as she wrote last week, “You will never find inspiration in exactly the same place you found it decades ago. You have to be open to new ideas, new ways of doing things, new ways of finding your creative community. You also have to be open to looking for stuff IRL— outside of your iPhone or laptop. Because change is ALIVE. And creativity is ALIVE. It’s not something discovered in the isolation of your Instagram app while you’re lying in bed alone in the middle of the night. So yes, you have to open your fucking eyes and look for it. You have to move around, go to different places, see as much as you can, meet amazing people, and exchange ideas. When I do that I am never bored for one minute.”
Please understand that when Kim arrives home in New York on the 22nd, she will be in some serious need of rest and relaxation in her pajamas for a full tour detox before starting her substack engine up full steam again the next week. But not to worry- I’ll hold down the fort for the time being. Until then, stay tuned to see all the places, people, and ideas she discovers over the next month.
Best,
Hannah

Some pictures and videos from week one in San Francisco!
So far this week in San Francisco, Kim has celebrated with an amazing soup party at Heath Ceramics boiler room, a chat and yummy gathering at her friends Amaryll and Loris’ legendary restaurant, Boulettes Larder in the ferry building, and last night an amazing talk, reading, and signing at Kim’s favorite spot on earth, Creative Growth art center in Oakland!
SAN FRANCISCO: if you missed these there is still more to come, and everyone is invited! See Kim tonight at 6:00 for a wonderful gathering and signing at Park Life co-hosted by her longtime friends Ben and Chris Ospital of Modern Appealing Clothing.
Thank you, San Francisco!
