Kim and the team at Contramar.
Hi Everybody!
Hannah here with another update on Kim’s book tour for STUFF! Last week, we closed out our time in Mexico City with a big, crazy soup party packed with the greatest cultural troublemakers of CDMX at Kim’s favorite watering hole on earth, Contramar. Hosted by Kim’s dear friend Gabriela Cámara, the visionary founder and owner of the legendary restaurant, Kim did a reading and chat with Cámara, followed by a performance by Kim’s bestie from NYC, the incredible Joey Arias, and of course, finally, a book signing while nine different amazing soups were being served to everyone. It was a night of incredible people, lots of love and tequila, and UNBELIEVABLE soups. Check out the photos below!!
The next morning, we sadly had to leave Mexico City. Kim headed back to continue her tour in Minneapolis where she did an event, reading and signing at the wonderful Walker Art Center . That day Kim’s interview with the smart, well respected Madeleine Brand aired on KCRW’s Pressplay in LA. Listen to her great conversation with Madeleine HERE.

Kim now has just arrived in Portland, Oregon to not only launch her book there but to see her many friends there and celebrate the 30th anniversary of her dear friend Thomas Lauderdale’s band Pink Martini there in their hometown! Before her big book launch there, she will be guest-performing and playing percussion with Pink Martini at both of their hometown anniversary concerts in Portland on the nights of April 14th and 15th at Revolution Hall. Come if you can manage to get tickets!
The next day (April 16th!) she’ll be celebrating her book with a huge party, reading and signing hosted by Pink Martini’s visionary founder, Thomas Lauderdale, along with Paige Powell, Hunter Noack, and John Brodie. Space is definitely limited so RSVP is a must!
Next up is CHICAGO!!
Thanks for following along,
Hannah
P.S.
As promised, here are a couple more photos from the Cooper Hewitt, where Kim received the Design Visionary award.
Lastly, here is a recording of her talk with James Spindler at the Rancho Mirage Writer Series presentation! Listen up, it’s really great!!
